1. Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using RefLight at www.ref-light.co.uk, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

RefLight is operated by Tom Whittaker, trading as RefLight, United Kingdom. Contact: helloreflight@gmail.com

2. What RefLight provides

RefLight is an AI-powered video analysis tool designed to help para powerlifting athletes and coaches assess bench press technique against World Para Powerlifting (WPP) technical rules.

The service provides:

RefLight is a coaching and preparation aid. It is not a substitute for qualified coaching, official referee assessment, or professional sports science advice.

3. No guarantee of competition outcomes

Important: RefLight does not guarantee, predict, or promise any specific outcome at competition. All analysis represents an assessment of likelihood and risk based on the information visible in the uploaded video. Actual competition results depend on many factors outside RefLight's assessment, including referee discretion, competition conditions, and factors not visible in training footage.

Specifically:

RefLight's assessments should be used as one input among several in an athlete's competition preparation — not as a definitive prediction of competition results.

4. Credits and payments

Access to RefLight analysis is provided via pre-purchased credit packs. Each analysis consumes one credit.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. RefLight does not store payment card details. By purchasing credits you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

5. Refund policy

Due to the nature of digital services, we do not offer refunds on purchased credit packs once credits have been used.

If you experience a technical fault that prevents a valid analysis from being delivered — for example, a server error that consumes a credit without returning a report — please contact us at helloreflight@gmail.com and we will review the case and restore the credit where appropriate.

Unused credits on credit packs are non-refundable. We recommend starting with the Starter Pack to assess whether RefLight meets your needs before purchasing larger packs.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to use RefLight only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You must not:

You are responsible for ensuring that any athlete whose footage you upload has given appropriate consent for their video to be processed for technical analysis purposes.

7. Intellectual property

The RefLight platform, branding, interface, and underlying technology are the intellectual property of Tom Whittaker trading as RefLight. All rights reserved.

Analysis reports generated by RefLight are provided for your personal or professional coaching use. You may share reports with athletes and coaching staff. You may not republish or sell reports as a standalone product.

Video content you upload remains your own. You grant RefLight a temporary licence to process the video for the purpose of generating your analysis report. This licence ends when the video is deleted (immediately after frame extraction).

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RefLight and its operator shall not be liable for:

Our total liability to you in any circumstances shall not exceed the amount you paid for the credit pack used in the relevant analysis.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

9. Service availability

RefLight is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications to the service at any time.

RefLight is currently in Beta. Features may change, and the service may be subject to limitations or interruptions as we continue to develop and improve it.

We will endeavour to notify users of significant planned downtime where possible via helloreflight@gmail.com.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of RefLight after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

For significant changes we will notify registered users by email where possible.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of RefLight shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
